Martha Evelyn (Pulley) Kamp, of Oklahoma City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2022. She was born January 25, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George Pulley, Sr. and Frances Louise Stone Pulley.

After graduating from Classen High School, Martha attended the University of Oklahoma, where she attained both a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Deaf Education. A passionate teacher, she left Oklahoma for a short time to teach at the Naval Station in China Lake, California. After she was married, Martha continued to work as a private teacher for the deaf for many years.

Martha was a lively woman, with a good sense of humor, and her home was always full of creative projects, as well as the aromas of cooking and baking. Whenever any of her loved friends or family stopped by it was a guarantee that they’d leave with something delicious – typically pies, cookies, or home-baked bread. She once even ensured a birthday cake made it all the way to Iraq! Martha enjoyed musicals and the songs of Dionne Warwick and Helen Reddy.

When she wasn’t whipping up delectable treats in the kitchen, she was out traveling with her husband Dick. Up until his passing in 2017, the pair would make cross-country drives and even head overseas in order to visit their children, spoil the grandkids, and see the sights. One of their last trips was to Italy.

Martha was a longtime member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Mobile Meals, Alpha Chi Omega, and PEO.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Richard “Dick” H. Kamp.

She is survived by her children Ellen Capalungan, husband Alan, of Charleston, South Carolina; Ted Kamp, wife Verity, of Los Angeles, California and Greg Kamp, wife Cheryl, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; as well as eight beloved grandchildren, dear in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and Mia the Chihuahua.

A memorial service to celebrate Martha’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2022 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10100 Ridgeview Drive, The Village, OK 73120.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Martha’s memory be made to the Smile Train Charity and Mobile Meals.
