UPDATE: We speculated below that the casting for Theo Chow could possibly be the new Iron Fist but it has come to our attention that the role could be for Samuel Chung aka Blindspot. If this is accurate it would be Blindspot’s first appearance in the MCU but the character Sam Chung did appear in Iron Fist for Netflix. He was played by James Chen.
Fans are rejoicing after it was announced at this years Comic Con that not only is Charlie Cox back as Daredevil but he is getting his own series on Disney Plus. Daredevil: Born Again will see Charlie Cox retrurn as the titular hero and Vincent D’Onofrio will return as the villain Kingpin. We saw Charlie Cox return in Spider-Man No Way Home and Kingpin return in Hawkeye but it will be great to see them return for an 18-episode series in 2024.
We will see Charlie in the Daredevil suit for Marvel’s She-Hulk and D’Onofrio is set to return for Echo. Footage from D23 showed Kingpin sporting an eye patch after his run with Maya during the finale of Hawkeye.
Krysten Ritter and Jon Bernthal are rumored to be returning to Marvel but no word on Finn Jones or Mike Colter. And while we are seeing returning actors from Netflix, Marvel has made it clear that these will be new stories and new characters will be introduced and even new actors to fill those roles are a possiblity.
We have learned from a source close to GVN that filming on Daredevil: Born Again is set for February 2023 and should wrap sometime in December 2023 with a likely premiere in 2024.
We have also learned that the series is looking to cast a Chinese American for the role of Theo Chow. Possibly a codename? They want a mae actor in his 20s. The character is described as sincere, optimistic, and hard-working.

While we are not certain who Theo will turn out be, it is possible he is a new original character to the Marvel universe or maybe he could turn out to be the new Iron Fist. Fans were very luke warm to Finn Jones and he is one that I could see fans being okay with recasting.
Marvel also recently introduced an Asian Iron Fist in the comics so it is possible we could see him take up the mantle passed down from Danny Rand in the MCU.
These questions and more will be answered as production on Daredevil: Born Again kicks off in early 2023.
